The University of British Columbia in Canada has opened applications for a funded Master of Science (MSc) in Cell and Developmental Biology. Located at the Vancouver campus, the program offers international students a minimum annual financial support package of CAD 32,500.
Admitted students will receive this funding for at least two years to cover costs, including an annual tuition fee of approximately CAD 10,081.65. International applicants can also receive an International Tuition Award of CAD 3,200 per year.
Nearly 50 faculty members are involved in research within the Cell and Developmental Biology program. Pakistani candidates generally require a recognised four-year bachelor’s degree with first-class or first-division academic standing to qualify.
The university does not consider a standalone two-year bachelor’s pass degree sufficient for graduate admission. Applicants must secure a firm commitment from a research supervisor before submitting their application.
English proficiency requirements include an IELTS Academic score of at least 6.5 with no component below 6.0, or a Duolingo English Test score of at least 125. For those who took the TOEFL before 21 January 2026, a minimum score of 90 under the previous 120-point system is required.
The university does not require GRE scores for this specific master's program. International applicants must pay an application fee of CAD 168.25.
The deadline for the May 2027 intake is 30 November 2026, while the September 2027 intake closes on 31 March 2027.
