Shehbaz Sharif forms committee to oversee Khyber Pakhtunkhwa affairs under Governor's Rule

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif constituted a committee to monitor the federal government’s management of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa affairs following the imposition of Governor's Rule. Ishaq Dar serves as the convener for this oversight body.
The committee includes members Rana Sanaullah, Azam Tarar, Ahsan Iqbal, Amir Muqam, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, and Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui. Expected to consist of 11 members, the group will likely include representatives from the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), and Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP).
During its first meeting, the committee evaluated the current situation and deliberated on necessary measures. The Centre justified the transition to Governor's Rule by citing the prevailing security situation, effectively displacing a PTI-led provincial government that held a two-thirds majority.
Shehbaz Sharif is expected to consult with allied political parties on 14 October.
