The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) plans to commence a long march from Lakki Marwat on 4 October 2026. The procession is scheduled to reach Peshawar by 6 October 2026.

The march itinerary includes a first stopover in Karak on 4 October 2026, followed by a second stop in Kohat on 5 October 2026. Caravans will depart Kohat for Peshawar on 6 October 2026, following the planned route.

Sohail Afridi is expected to lead the march, departing from Gandi Chowk in Lakki Marwat at 1 pm on 4 October 2026. The gathering will see caravans from Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, South Waziristan, and Bannu converging in Lakki Marwat.

The march's objectives include pressing for acceleration of hearings concerning cases against Imran Khan. Furthermore, the protest aims to secure Imran Khan's treatment at Shifa International Hospital.

PTI leaders also intend to end restrictions placed on meetings with Imran Khan. Shaukat Yousafzai urged the PTI leadership to postpone the 4 October march.

Yousafzai cited security concerns and the risk of an emergency rule as reasons for postponement. He warned that the federal government might use issues to impose an emergency rule.

Yousafzai alleged the federal government was building a narrative suggesting the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government was not cooperating with the centre. However, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan rejected Yousafzai's proposal and reaffirmed the 4 October decision.

Barrister Gohar Ali Khan stated that Sohail Afridi possesses Imran Khan's full confidence and cannot be disqualified. Barrister Gohar Ali Khan confirmed that PTI's call for a protest march on 4 October remains intact.

The PTI long march was postponed to 4 October following a unanimous decision by the party’s political committee. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif wrote a letter to Mahmood Khan Achakzai proposing a meeting.

Barrister Gohar Ali Khan questioned the basis for imposing governor’s rule or an emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). He warned that PTI would fully resist if the governor’s rule or state of emergency were declared in KP.

Barrister Gohar Ali Khan asserted that the mandate of KP belongs to Imran Khan, and Sohail Afridi serves as CM with Khan’s consent. PTI leaders met with PPP leaders as part of a joint opposition and invited them to the All Parties Conference (APC).
