Engineer Amir Muqam addressed a press conference on Thursday, urging the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to prioritise resolving public issues rather than pursuing a long march. Muqam asserted that terrorism incidents persisted within the province while the provincial leadership remained occupied with political activities.
He stated that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were enduring serious hardships. The minister further noted that the provincial government bears the duty of maintaining law and order and addressing public problems.
Regarding governance history, Muqam mentioned that the PTI government had held power in the province for three consecutive terms. He added that the PTI had also governed at the federal level for three and a half years.
The minister also declared that the government would not permit anyone to paralyze Islamabad. Furthermore, Muqam confirmed that detailed discussions took place between the two sides concerning negotiations.
Defeating terrorism, Muqam claimed, requires combined efforts from the federal and provincial governments, political parties, the populace, and the Pakistan Armed Forces. Attendees at the press conference included PML-N Central Additional Secretary Information Senator Zahid Khan, MNA Ghazala Anjum, MPA Ali Hadi, and former MNA Shahzada Mohi-ud-Din.
