The convoy led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi reached Mattani on Tuesday, following earlier movements by protesters who set out from Kohat on the same day. The march, which commenced on Sunday, 4 October, from Lakki Marwat, has seen the Afridi-led convoy arrive at Kohat on Monday night.
At University Chowk in Kohat, CM Afridi addressed PTI supporters, stating, "Your failed policy did not end terrorism. Let me propose a policy under which peace can be established in 100 days." Furthermore, CM Afridi shared his proposed demands on social media, adding, "I have shared the draft of my demands on social media."
Meanwhile, KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi vowed that the PTI's long march would not proceed beyond Attock in Punjab, asserting, "They cannot go any further than Attock." Kundi further stated that the PTI lacked the necessary capacity to continue marching further.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also urged the PTI to conclude its long march. Regarding arrests, the PTI claimed police detained over 75 of its workers and leaders in Karachi, and alleged that detentions in other Sindh areas brought the total across the province to more than 100.
