He directed that coordinated measures be taken to expand access for Pakistani agricultural products to international markets and explore new markets.

The prime minister also instructed commercial officers posted at Pakistan’s missions abroad to promote agricultural exports effectively.

During the meeting, it was reported that Pakistan’s agricultural exports stood at $5.18 billion during the last financial year, with key exports including rice, fisheries, halal meat, potatoes, sesame, tobacco, mangoes, and maize.

The prime minister highlighted the need for value addition in agricultural products to increase exports from the agriculture sector.

He proposed the development of value chains to increase agricultural exports, with China, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and the Gulf countries identified as important markets.

The meeting also proposed the establishment of a Digital Farmers’ Diary-Agri Stack, which would digitize farmers’ records, agricultural land records, and soil and water testing records.

A Pakistan-Good Agriculture Practices (Pak-GAP) system was proposed to promote agricultural practices that produce better results.

Facilities related to agricultural financing would be provided to promote exporters in the agriculture sector.
