The Election Commission of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has completed all necessary arrangements for the upcoming elections, scheduled for July 15, 2026. The commission assured members that the process would be conducted transparently and in accordance with the law.

At the Executive Committee meeting held on July 13, 2026, the election schedule, including the venue, was finalised. Malik Khalid Gujjar, Sheikh Sajjad Afzal, and Shahid Baig were appointed as members of the Election Commission.

The commission expressed appreciation for the measures taken by Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan and Director General Trade Organizations (DGTO) Bilal Pasha to enhance transparency in trade-body elections. The Ministry of Commerce and DGTO have introduced an online portal through the Pakistan Single Window (PSW) for submission of election notifications and related information.

Regarding the venue, the commission stated that some members had requested the DGTO to allow polling at the LCCI building. A decision on the request is awaited, while arrangements are being made at the LCCI premises in the meantime. Alternative venues, including Flatties Hotel and Expo Centre Lahore, were considered but found unsuitable or unavailable.

Parking facilities have been arranged at multiple locations, with two adjoining event halls booked by candidates also providing additional parking. Punjab Police and private security personnel will be deployed, and traffic arrangements are being coordinated with the Chief Traffic Officer Lahore.

The commission welcomed the appointment of two observers to monitor the elections, stating that this move would strengthen transparency and credibility. The LCCI EC has been working diligently to ensure that the elections are conducted in a fair and impartial manner, assuring members of a peaceful and lawful process.

The LCCI EC has taken several steps to ensure the smooth conduct of the elections, including the finalisation of the venue, parking arrangements, and the deployment of security personnel. These measures are part of the broader efforts to enhance transparency and credibility in the trade-body elections.
