Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari stated that the Sindh Assembly has concluded the discussion regarding the creation of a new province within Sindh. The Sindh Assembly passed a resolution in September to block any efforts to divide the province or establish new administrative units.

Bhutto-Zardari said, "The people of Sindh and their elected representatives have given their decision. Only the people of Sindh can decide Sindh’s fate." The Chairman noted that the Sindh Assembly has made its position on the matter clear at least seven to eight times.

He added, "now we should put a full stop to this conversation." The Pakistan Peoples Party position on the provincial issue remains consistent and has been repeated several times, Bhutto-Zardari said.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi called for a dialogue among all political parties in July to discuss governance reforms and the creation of new provinces. Bhutto-Zardari denied that the federal government held any consultations with the Pakistan Peoples Party regarding the 28th Constitutional Amendment.

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has consistently requested that Karachi be designated as a province separate from Sindh. Bhutto-Zardari claimed that federal cabinet members from Karachi have not contributed any work for the city.

The provincial government was working to provide solar power to residents in the Lyari area. Chief Minister Murad stated, "there will be no compromise on Sindh’s geographical unity."
