A recent gathering at the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) saw Pakistani experts underscored diplomacy and emerging war technologies as vital tools in deterring security threats from a belligerent India. Prominent figures like Vice Chancellor Dr Zafar Nawaz Jaspal stressed the importance of maintaining strategic stability through sustained engagement.
The conference, held on May 28 and titled ‘Strategic Stability, Emerging Threats and Role of Diplomacy’, brought together academics, diplomats, military experts, including ISSI’s Vice Chancellor Dr Zafar Nawaz Jaspal and Professor Rizwana Abbasi.
Dr Jaspal highlighted Pakistan’s significant role in regional strategic stability through continuous engagement. He urged for a more robust adoption of new war technologies to effectively deter potential threats from India, reflecting concerns about their increasingly aggressive posture towards South Asia.
