The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has dismantled an international child pornography network, arresting a father involved in making and selling explicit videos of his own minor children, according to a press conference held in Islamabad on Sunday.
NCCIA Additional Director Mohammad Shoaib Khan stated that the accused, a father, was involved in creating indecent videos of his children, aged between four and five, and selling them through secret Telegram groups using cryptocurrency.
The investigation also uncovered disturbing scenes of animal abuse in the videos, highlighting the severity of the crime. Khan added that the ringleader of the gang, a resident of Skardu, was arrested with the support of international agencies.
During the investigation, important links and evidence were recovered from Islamabad, Multan, and South Punjab. Raids are ongoing to arrest other network facilitators, according to Khan.
In another case, NCCIA arrested four members of a child pornography gang after investigating around 60 videos recovered from a child’s mobile phone. The accused used to befriend children aged between six and 14 on Instagram, lure them with money, and make indecent videos, which were then sold in WhatsApp groups and internationally.
The NCCIA Director General (DG) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi directed the agency to adopt a zero-tolerance policy against elements harassing citizens, particularly women and children, on social media.
In a separate case, a minor girl from Karachi attempted suicide after being harassed for two to three years. The NCCIA team, with the help of the victim’s family, traced and arrested the main accused in just 13 hours.
Khan emphasized the importance of strict implementation of a zero-tolerance policy against those harassing women and children. He advised social media users to remain vigilant and to avoid sharing personal information with anyone.
The additional director urged citizens not to share their one-time password, bank account details, or personal information with anyone and to beware of fake numbers on fake websites, as calling them may lead to emptying of accounts. He added, 'If you are a victim of cybercrime, do not remain silent; NCCIA stands with you.'
Those involved in such heinous crimes will be brought to justice.
