The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has announced a significant recovery of state assets worth Rs2.45 trillion during the second quarter of 2026, marking a substantial leap in its anti-corruption efforts.
According to NAB spokesman Sohail Nasir, this achievement is part of an ongoing drive against corruption and includes the recovery of more than 1,078,283 acres of state land across Balochistan, Sindh, Punjab, and Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).
The highest recovery figures were recorded by NAB Sukkur, which recovered 853,678 acres of land worth Rs1.01 trillion from the National Highway Authority and forest departments.
NAB Balochistan also made significant recoveries, including 209,544 acres of forest land with a combined value of Rs604.64 billion, encompassing prime natural reserves like Hingol National Park.
In Karachi, NAB recovered 11,422 acres of allegedly illegally allotted state land and questioned leases granted to housing societies and individuals, valued at Rs467.11 billion.
NAB Lahore recovered 1,909 acres of land worth Rs288.29 billion related to the Punjab Cooperative Board for Liquidation and state land.
Meanwhile, NAB Islamabad and Rawalpindi recovered 810 acres of land worth Rs66.63 billion linked to amenity plots of the Capital Development Authority in different housing societies.
NAB Multan recovered 920 acres of land worth Rs2.76 billion.
In addition to these recoveries, NAB has compensated over 24,365 affected people through the return of their money and assets amounting to Rs42.30 billion in cases related to housing and financial fraud.
