Federal Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal has outlined the arrangements for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026, emphasizing the role of provincial authorities and universities in ensuring a fair and transparent examination process.
Speaking at a press conference at the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) on Wednesday, Kamal highlighted the importance of security and examination arrangements, stating that provincial authorities and designated universities must take responsibility for these aspects.
The MDCAT 2026 will be conducted on September 20, 2026, in 34 cities and towns across Pakistan, with one international venue in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. A total of 138,160 candidates have registered for the examination.
PM&DC has prepared a question bank of approximately 8,000 questions, with contributions from around 80 subject experts. The minister noted that each province will receive at least two separate question papers, each containing 180 questions.
The minister also mentioned that PM&DC has completed its responsibilities, including candidate registration, sharing candidate data with provinces and universities, and providing a uniform syllabus and question bank.
Kamal emphasized that the respective universities will be responsible for printing, storing, and transporting the examination papers, as well as declaring the results. In case of paper leakage or failure to ensure transparency, the concerned university will be held responsible.
The minister stated, 'Provincial authorities and designated universities must ensure proper security and examination arrangements to maintain the integrity of the MDCAT 2026.'
