Mari Energies Limited, formerly known as Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MARI), has awarded a contract to Universal Gas Distribution Company (Pvt) Ltd for the supply of up to 17.5 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) of gas from the Spinwam Gas Discovery.

The contract was issued after MARI invited bids on May 15, 2026, and disclosed the development in its notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Monday.

A Letter of Award, also known as a Notification of Award (NoA), signifies that Universal Gas Distribution Company has won the contract and is required to furnish performance security and environmental and social performance security within a stipulated timeframe.

Mari Energies operates Waziristan Block with a 55% working interest alongside Oil and Gas Development Company Limited and Orient Petroleum Inc., which hold 35% and 10% working interests, respectively.

The company is the country’s second-largest producer of natural gas and an integrated oil and gas entity with an exploration success rate of around 70%, significantly higher than industry averages nationally and internationally.

Mari Energies has previously uncovered more hydrocarbon reserves in KP’s Spinwam-1 well, further strengthening its position as a leading energy player in Pakistan.
