Deputy Prime Minister and Field Marshal meet Turkish President, stress bilateral relations
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the OIC meeting, according to the Foreign Office spokesperson. Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar conveyed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s message of good wishes to the Turkish President.
Ishaq Dar stressed the importance of sustainable bilateral relations between Pakistan and Turkey. The two leaders reiterated their commitment to further strengthen and diversify long-term fraternal cooperation.
The meeting agreed to continue diplomatic efforts to ease Iran-Israel tensions.
The leaders called on the international community to play an effective role to restore peace and stability in the region.
The two leaders stressed the urgent need to stop the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza and ensure the uninterrupted supply of humanitarian aid to the besieged Palestinian people.
Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar congratulated President Erdogan on the successful hosting of the OIC Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and the award given by the Islamic Cooperation Organization Youth Forum in appreciation of his leadership.
