Pakistan is working to increase its presence in the international critical minerals market. The country has identified 92 different minerals across its territory.
Commercial extraction currently takes place for 52 of these minerals. Estimates place the value of the nation's mineral reserves at $8 trillion.
Despite this wealth, the sector contributes less than 3 percent to the gross domestic product. Mineral exports could potentially grow from $3 billion to $8 billion.
The Reko Diq project stands as the largest foreign investment project in Pakistan. This project is expected to produce approximately 240,000 tonnes of copper every year.
Pakistan has signed agreements with US Strategic Metals to develop critical minerals. A total of $720 million in foreign investment has entered the country.
The Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum 2026 will take place on 12 and 13 November. The Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad will host the forum.
Pakistan IT exports reached a 9-month high.
