Pakistan’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, met with the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (RCCI) to discuss economic cooperation. Nosherwan Khalil Khan, President of the RCCI, hosted the diplomat during the visit.
Waseem Aslam, Senior Vice President, joined the meeting alongside former presidents Raja Amer Iqbal and Zahid Latif Khan. Members of the RCCI Executive Committee also participated in the talks.
The discussion focused on identifying new avenues for trade and highlighting opportunities for Pakistani firms within the Russian market. Energy, gas, information technology, surgical instruments, sports goods, tourism, pharmaceuticals, and transportation were highlighted as primary sectors for growth.
Participants addressed hurdles such as banking channels, letters of credit, visa procedures, information sharing, and trade connectivity. The group emphasized strengthening institutional links between the chambers of commerce in both nations.
Proposed strategies for these linkages include business-to-business matchmaking, trade delegation exchanges, enhanced networking, and the promotion of joint ventures.
