The Deputy High Commission of the People's Republic of Bangladesh in Karachi and the Economic Diplomacy Forum (EDF) Pakistan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 30 October.
Muhammad Sakib Sadakat, the Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh, signed the document for the Deputy High Commission in Karachi. Dr. Muhammad Farooq Afzal, the Founder President of the Economic Diplomacy Forum, signed the agreement on behalf of EDF Pakistan. The EDF organised a high-level seminar to improve trade, investment, and institutional linkages between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
The MoU creates a framework to promote bilateral trade, facilitate business-to-business networking, and organise trade seminars and business delegations. The agreement also encourages the exchange of commercial information and aims to strengthen people-to-people contacts. Muhammad Farooq Afzal said economic diplomacy is an effective instrument for strengthening bilateral relations.
He added that there is vast potential for expanding business partnerships and noted a need for sustained engagement between the private sectors of both countries. Muhammad Sakib Sadakat said it is important to strengthen economic relations and explore new avenues of cooperation. Ambassador Rafiuzaman Siddiqui said continued dialogue, mutual understanding, and constructive engagement are important for advancing bilateral cooperation.
