Nosherwan Khalil was sworn in as the President of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) during an oath-taking ceremony held in Rawalpindi. During the ceremony, RCCI Group Leader Sohail Altaf administered the oath to Nosherwan Khalil Khan, who thus assumed the role of President of RCCI.
Waseem Aslam also assumed office as the Senior Vice President of RCCI, while Ikram-ur-Rehman Abbasi took the oath as the Vice President of RCCI. Sohail Altaf stated that the new leadership will strengthen the Chamber, positioning it as a platform for business and economic development.
Addressing business challenges formed a key priority for Khan's tenure. Khan highlighted several areas requiring attention, including industrial policy, taxation, compliance issues, export competitiveness, and the high cost of production.
Furthermore, Khan called for the establishment of economic and industrial zones along the Rawalpindi Ring Road. The President also noted that businesses currently encounter harassment from government departments and tax authorities.
To resolve these business issues, RCCI plans to engage constructively with government institutions.
