Pakistan is poised to expand its presence in the global flexible packaging export market, with local manufacturers introducing a range of specialized packaging films. These innovations are designed to meet the growing demand for films that offer stronger barrier protection, recyclability, and improved material efficiency.
At the 3P Plas Print Pack Pakistan 2026 exhibition, held at the Expo Centre Lahore from September 3 to 5, International Packaging Films Limited (IPAK) unveiled its latest portfolio of advanced packaging films. This includes coated films, AlOx transparent barrier films, ultra-high-barrier metallized films, low-temperature sealing films, aroma-barrier films, high-heat-resistant and retortable films, next-generation BOPE, functional-oriented films, and circular packaging solutions.
The new products are targeted at food, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and other consumer industries, aiming to enhance product shelf life, barrier protection, recyclability, and packaging efficiency. These advancements could help Pakistan move beyond conventional packaging products and compete in higher-value segments of the international market.
IPAK is engaging with packaging converters, FMCG manufacturers, exporters, and international buyers to expand its customer base and develop new export opportunities. The company is focusing on the growing role of advanced manufacturing, sustainable materials, and value-added products in Pakistan’s efforts to expand non-traditional exports and generate foreign exchange.
The expansion into specialized films could have a significant impact on the domestic market by reducing dependence on imported specialized packaging materials and supporting import substitution. By offering more technically demanding packaging products, local manufacturers can diversify their export base and compete more effectively in the global market.
The new products are part of a broader strategy to position Pakistan as a key player in the global flexible packaging industry. With a focus on advanced barrier and functional films, the industry is expected to support export diversification and contribute to the country’s economic growth.
