Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has given his approval for the implementation of a new facial recognition system, known as the Facial Recognition Attendance Monitoring and Evaluation System (FRAMES), in schools across the province. This decision was made during a high-level meeting involving key officials from the School Education Department.

The first phase of FRAMES will be launched in six districts starting August 17, with one district selected from each division for the pilot phase. The system is designed to digitally monitor and record the attendance of both teaching and non-teaching staff in government schools.

According to officials present at the meeting, all technical preparations have been completed, including the registration of staff members and the geo-tagging of school locations. The system can operate in both online and offline modes, ensuring its functionality even in areas with limited internet connectivity.

Speaking during the meeting, Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah highlighted that the FRAMES system will automatically record teachers' arrival and departure times and maintain secure attendance records. He emphasized the importance of this initiative in improving school management and accountability.

Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah added that the department has completed all necessary preparations for the rollout, ensuring a smooth transition to the new system. The School Education Secretary Zahid Abbasi informed the meeting that the selected districts have already completed the registration process for staff members.

The officials stated that the FRAMES system will significantly enhance the accuracy and efficiency of attendance monitoring in schools. They noted that this technology will provide real-time data, which can be used to evaluate the performance of teachers and school staff more effectively.

While the initial phase is limited to six districts, the government plans to expand the implementation across the entire province in subsequent phases. The system's offline functionality ensures its reliability even in areas with poor internet connectivity, making it a robust solution for Sindh’s educational institutions.
