The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has reported that 12 people have died due to rain-related incidents over the past 24 hours in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, bringing the province's monsoon death toll to 35 since late June. The NDMA stated that heavy rains and flash floods led to the collapse of roofs and walls in various districts including Peshawar, Khyber, Mardan, Buner, Bajaur, Lower Chitral, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Tor Ghar, and Kurram.

The deceased included six men, five children, and one woman. Additionally, 14 people were injured and 14 houses were damaged, with one house completely destroyed. The PDMA KP has advised the public to avoid unnecessary travel and visits to vulnerable tourist destinations as heavy monsoon rains continue in different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The district administrations have been directed to accelerate relief operations and provide immediate assistance to affected families. Meanwhile, PDMA, Rescue 1122, and other agencies remain engaged in rescue and response efforts. The Pakistan Meteorological Department had previously forecast strong winds, thunderstorms, and heavy rainfall across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from July 19 to 23, warning of possible flash floods, landslides, and urban flooding, particularly in mountainous districts.

In response to the ongoing situation, the provincial government has taken steps to ensure the safety and well-being of its citizens. District administrations have been instructed to prioritize relief operations and provide immediate assistance to those affected. The PDMA and other rescue agencies are actively engaged in rescue and response efforts to mitigate the impact of the monsoon rains.

The NDMA's warning comes as the province grapples with the challenges posed by heavy rainfall, which has caused significant damage to houses and infrastructure. The authorities have emphasized the need for public cooperation and adherence to safety advisories to minimize casualties and property loss.
