SNGPL Clarifies Gas Supply Situation, Emphasizes Uninterrupted Service

SNGPL Clarifies Gas Supply Situation, Emphasizes Uninterrupted Service

Key Takeaways

  • SNGPL has clarified that recent media reports on gas supply disruptions are inaccurate.
  • The force majeure declared by Qatar Energy remains in effect and has been extended.
  • Domestic consumers continue to receive gas supplies during peak cooking hours.

Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has issued a statement clarifying recent media reports that suggested an impending disruption in natural gas supply. The company categorically states that these reports do not reflect the current ground realities and that no change has been made to gas supplies to consumers.

According to SNGPL, the force majeure declared by Qatar Energy in March 2026 remains in effect and has been extended from time to time, including the latest extension communicated to SNGPL. This is a continuation of an existing situation and does not represent any new adverse development or additional curtailment in gas supplies.

SNGPL continues to manage the gas supply situation in close coordination with the National Coordination & Management Council (NCMC) and the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division). The company optimizes indigenous gas supplies while regularly arranging LNG cargoes to meet the country’s energy demand across all key sectors. Domestic consumers continue to receive gas supplies during peak cooking hours, ensuring uninterrupted service.

At the same time, SNGPL maintains an uninterrupted supply of gas to the industrial and fertilizer sectors to support economic activity and agricultural productivity. Special emphasis has also been placed on maximizing gas supply to the power sector to help mitigate electricity load shedding. This ensures that essential services continue to function without disruption.

SNGPL remains committed to ensuring a reliable and uninterrupted gas supply across its franchise areas through prudent resource management and close coordination with all relevant stakeholders. The company urges consumers and the media to rely on official information issued by SNGPL and other relevant authorities, avoiding conclusions drawn from inaccurate or speculative reports.
