Donald Trump posted a 1,300-word social media tirade against Bill Maher on Friday night.

Maher hosted a new episode of his show “Real Time” on Friday evening. The comedian interviewed Republican Senator Ted Cruz, who promoted his new book regarding Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. Jim VandeHei, the co-founder and CEO of Axios, also participated in the panel.

Earlier this month, Maher attended a White House dinner with Trump, Kid Rock, and ESPN pundit Stephen A Smith. Rock, who grew up on a large estate in the suburbs of Michigan, was present at that event.

During the dinner, Rock told Maher, "You were pretty high."

Maher denied the claim, stating, "He said I was drunk. I was not drunk." Maher noted that they had a good time during the gathering.

Rock added, "We had a good time" and asked if Maher was referring to the dinner or the whole thing.

Rock expressed fear regarding Islamic extremism, questioning if Abdul El-Sayed, a Democratic candidate for Senate in Michigan, is a "wolf in sheep’s clothing." The musician described El-Sayed as well-spoken and well-educated but compared him to the individuals who flew planes into the World Trade Centers and the Fort Hood shooter.

Maher countered by stating that the 9/11 hijackers were not assimilated, noting they were from Saudi Arabia.

Rock disputed this, saying, "The ones who flew the planes were from Saudi Arabia? No." Records show 15 of the 19 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia, while two were from the United Arab Emirates and one was from Egypt. One additional hijacker was from Lebanon, and the first group arrived in the United States in January 2000.

Trump claimed that if El-Sayed and the Democrats win, they will "open the floodgates and welcome hordes of jihadists to our shores, creating a nightmare of violence and terror until you cannot even have a Christmas." Maher remarked that the left is naïve and the right is hysterical regarding the issue of Islam in America and Muslim candidates.
