Chris Brown received an 8-month prison sentence for an assault in London, though the court suspended the term for 12 months. The incident took place at the Tape London nightclub in February 2023.
Brown struck Abraham Diaw twice in the head with a tequila bottle during the altercation. Omololu Akinlolu, who served as Brown's vocal coach, also punched Diaw.
Diaw was transported to a hospital for treatment of injuries to his knees and head. Akinlolu pleaded guilty and received a 4-month prison sentence, which was also suspended for 12 months.
Southwark Crown Court heard the case in July after a warrant was issued for the arrest of both individuals. Prosecutors dropped the charges for assault and grievous bodily harm after Brown and Akinlolu denied the allegations and the possession of an offensive weapon.
"This was a vicious and unprovoked attack by Brown and Akinlolu in a crowded nightclub where Brown used a glass bottle as a weapon to strike the victim’s head twice," said Claire Campbell, a senior prosecutor at CPS London South.
