Fitbit Edge will sell for €179 in Europe, while the UK market will see it priced at £159, and the US expects a cost around $180. The device incorporates a 1.34-inch always-on OLED touchscreen, providing a clear display for users.
Functionally, the Fitbit Edge will operate on Fitbit OS, granting users access to Google Play services. Connectivity for the wearable is established via Bluetooth, allowing it to link with both Android and iOS devices.
It includes several sensors, specifically an accelerometer, a barometer, an altimeter, and a gyroscope, for comprehensive data collection. Users can track various metrics, including steps, distance, calories, skin temperature, sleep patterns, cardiac load, and menstrual cycles.
Furthermore, the device monitors physical activities such as running, swimming, and golf, alongside over forty different exercises. The wearable also features alerts for atrial fibrillation and irregular heart rhythms, offering proactive health monitoring.
Battery longevity is rated for up to seven days of use, though this figure drops to two days when the screen remains always on. Durability is assured by an IP68 water resistance rating, making it suitable for various conditions.
Finally, the Fitbit Edge is anticipated to arrive in four distinct colour options.
