FIFA will conduct a series of site visits to candidate host cities across Spain, Portugal and Morocco during November and December. A delegation from the governing body plans to evaluate stadiums and cities in all three nations to determine their fitness for hosting matches.
Morocco is scheduled to host inspections in Agadir, Casablanca, Fez, Marrakech, Rabat and Tangier. In Portugal, officials will visit Lisbon and Porto.
Spain's candidate locations include Barcelona, Bilbao, Las Palmas, Madrid, San Sebastian, Seville and Zaragoza. The organisation might also inspect additional venues as the selection process continues.
The specific types of games and match allocations for each venue will be decided only after the final list of host cities is confirmed and the tournament schedule is developed. The 2030 World Cup will open with three matches in Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay.
Uruguay hosted the inaugural 1930 World Cup. Spain and Morocco are currently competing to host the final match.
The governing body has also not announced the location of the World Cup final.
