Khyber Medical University (KMU) announced centralised admissions for private-sector MBBS and BDS programmes across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the 2026-27 academic session. The admission process encompasses ten dental and medical colleges, both public and private, within the province. Applications for these programmes will open via the designated portal on 6 October 2026. The deadline for submitting all applications is set for 9 November 2026. KMU has released the full admission schedule, eligibility criteria, and the complete merit formula for candidates. This centralised admission process involves ten medical institutions: Abbottabad International Medical College, Frontier Medical College, Jinnah Medical College, Kabir Medical College, Muhammad College of Medicine, North West School of Medicine, Pak International Medical College, Peshawar Medical College, Rehman Medical College, and Women Medical College, Abbottabad. Furthermore, five private dental colleges are included in this admission cycle.
To apply, candidates must possess a Higher Secondary School Certificate, FSc Pre-Medical, or an equivalent qualification, achieving a minimum of 60% marks. Applicants must also have passed the MDCAT in 2024, 2025, or 2026. For MBBS admission, a minimum of 55% marks in the MDCAT is required, while BDS applicants need at least 50% marks in the MDCAT. KMU will calculate the admission aggregate using a weightage of 10% for SSC/Matric or equivalent, 40% for HSSC/FSc Pre-Medical or equivalent, and 50% for MDCAT. KMU has moved the entire private medical and dental college admission process online, meaning hard-copy submissions will not be accepted. The online admission forms are available starting 6 October 2026, with the final submission date being 9 November 2026. Following this, the provisional merit list is anticipated on 11 November 2026, with online objections and claims scheduled for 11–12 November 2026. The Appellate Scrutiny Committee meeting is set for 16 November 2026, preceding the expected final merit list release on 24 November 2026. Placement in various MBBS/BDS categories is scheduled between 8–12 December 2026, followed by a second placement round for vacant seats from 21–24 December 2026. The third placement round for remaining vacancies will take place from 4–7 January 2027. Selected candidates must deposit the necessary fee within three working days of receiving their admission offer.
