An Islamabad anti-terrorism court (ATC) ordered jail authorities to allow lawyer Imaan Mazari, her husband Hadi Ali Chattha, and their legal team to meet. Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra issued the instructions during a hearing attended by former human rights minister Shireen Mazari and lawyers Riasat Ali Azad and Aimal Khan.

The prosecutor informed the court that there were nine witnesses in the case. Chattha pleaded for a summons, stating, "The court has to decide our fate. Please summon us to court."

Imaan and Chattha were rearrested on 17 September. Judge Abul Hasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain previously denied a request for a 30-day physical remand and placed the couple on judicial remand.

The court issued a contempt notice to the Adiala jail superintendent on 27 September before ending those proceedings on 29 September. On 7 October, the ATC framed charges against Imaan and Chattha regarding an alleged violation of a designated route and incitement during the arrival of an international cricket team.

The court rejected a request from the couple's lawyers to adjourn the hearing. Police registered the case on 29 October 2023 after the pair allegedly removed road barriers during a visit by the England cricket team.

Jail authorities produced the couple before the court via video link in connection with a case registered at the Secretariat police station.
