The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) released the 2026 annual examination results for first-year intermediate students. A new grading system was introduced for these examinations, requiring candidates to secure a minimum of 40% marks in each paper to pass.

Students who fail to reach the 40% threshold in any single paper are now designated as ungraded. BIEK utilised Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) and electronic marking systems to conduct electronic assessments for all optional subjects in the science groups.
