Mohammad Zikria Akbar Zia chaired an orientation meeting of the newly elected Executive Committee on 5 October 2026. Mr Zia stated that the Industrial Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) would pursue a proactive, result-oriented, and inclusive advocacy agenda.
The immediate focus, he added, involves improving the ease of doing business, resolving taxation and regulatory issues, and reducing energy costs. Furthermore, the committee plans to address infrastructure challenges, facilitate Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), and promote trade, exports, and investment.
Mr Zia also confirmed that business issues would undergo systematic identification and prioritization, subsequently being addressed with relevant government bodies for timely resolution. Mohammad Ashfaq Hussain Chatah affirmed that the new leadership intends to make ICCI a more responsive and effective platform for the business community.
Mohammad Waqas Khan highlighted that ICCI would concentrate on strengthening engagement with the business community, paying special attention to SMEs, young entrepreneurs, and emerging sectors. The Executive Committee members subsequently agreed to strengthen the working mechanism of ICCI committees.
