John Galliano released his first collection for Zara, titled Re{form}. The Met exhibition planned to honour Galliano was cancelled following public backlash.

Dana Thomas labelled the Met exhibition plan a “terrible idea”. The collection's prices range from £17.99 up to £699.

Orsola de Castro described the Zara partnership as “the coup of their career, their life, their brand”. Philippe Pourhashemi also stated that securing Galliano for Zara represents a major coup.

Galliano previously stated he had no intention of simplifying his work for a more mainstream market. The designer previously faced accusations, as he was found guilty of a hate crime in 2011.

Following the 2011 incident, Galliano was dismissed by Dior. He subsequently served as creative director for Margiela for a decade, beginning in 2014.

Galliano concluded his tenure at Margiela with a final show in 2024. Kim Kardashian wore a piece from Galliano at the Met Gala red carpet in 2024.

Tony Glenville suggested that Galliano's actions related to fashion constituted a business arrangement. In a statement, Galliano said, “I remain fully accountable for the pain caused by my words in the past, particularly the hurt I caused to the Jewish and Asian communities, and I remain deeply sorry for it”.

Separately, Galliano signed a two-year contract.
