Amazon released the Alexa Photo Frame on 28 October. The device costs $199.99 for the black frame model.

A 10-inch touchscreen display with a semi-matte, anti-glare finish serves as the primary interface. Integrated smart speaker technology provides access to Alexa Plus, which curates the content shown on the screen.

Alexa selects specific images based on the current season, smiles, and lighting conditions. The frame displays photos exclusively and does not show advertisements.

Images are pulled from Amazon Photos, a service that provides unlimited storage for Prime members. Users can back up photos from Apple or Android devices and pull images from iCloud Photo.

The Amazon Photos app allows users to add voice notes to images, though recording these notes directly on the frame will arrive at a later date. Side-by-side pairs of similar photos can also be displayed by the system.

Hardware features include a light sensor for brightness adjustment, a detachable stand, volume controls, and a microphone mute button. The app enables users to preload albums with voice notes to create gifts.

The Amazon Photos app does not support importing content from Google Photos.
