British singer Lily Allen has announced significant changes to the routing of her upcoming tour, which was initially set to feature performances at major arenas across North America. In an Instagram post on July 13, Allen expressed excitement about bringing her album 'West End Girl' back to the United States this September but also revealed that she had to make some adjustments.
Allen stated, ‘I am so beyond excited to bring West End Girl back across the pond this September!! It has been so surreal playing this album to such epic crowds this summer.. Thank you for singing every word with me.’ She went on to inform her fans about the changes, noting that shows in Philadelphia, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Vancouver have been downsized from arenas to theaters or amphitheaters. Additionally, Allen canceled a planned stop in Montreal.
The singer also apologized to her fans in Montreal, saying, ‘I am so sad to say we tried our hardest but will not be able to make it to you this time.’ However, she reassured her audience that shows in New York, Boston, Toronto, Detroit, Minneapolis, and Red Rocks are staying as originally planned. Tickets for these venues remain on sale.
Allen’s decision to scale down the tour comes after a successful run earlier this year where she played theaters and concert halls across the U.K., Europe, and the United States before bumping up to arenas in the U.K. during a recent run. The singer has been performing her new 2025 album chronologically on this tour, which has drawn both praise and criticism from fans.
In response to a complaint about the length of one of her shows at the O2 Arena in London, Allen defended her artistic choice, stating that the show was designed to focus solely on the new album. She explained, ‘The show has always been about playing this album chronologically – it’s not an arena tour, it’s a West End Girl tour.’
Allen is set to kick off the fall North American tour on September 3 at Madison Square Garden in New York and will follow with a stop at MGM Music Hall at Fenway in Boston on September 4. The itinerary includes performances in Philadelphia (originally at the 21,000-capacity Xfinity Mobile Arena but now at the TD Pavilion at Highmark Mann), Toronto, Detroit, Chicago (now at the 3,500-capacity Chicago Theatre instead of the United Center), Minneapolis, Morrison, Colo., Los Angeles (at the 5,900-capacity Greek Theatre rather than the 18,000-capacity Kia Forum), Oakland (at the 3,000-capacity Paramount Theatre instead of the 21,500-capacity Chase Center in San Francisco), and Seattle. The tour is scheduled to conclude on September 28 at the Orpheum in Vancouver.
Fans with tickets for the canceled or rescheduled shows will receive automatic refunds within 5-7 working days. A presale for these venues will go live at 10 a.m. local time on July 22, followed by a general onsale on July 24 at the same time.
