BandLab Acquires AI-Powered Music Studio Aiode

BandLab Acquires AI-Powered Music Studio Aiode

Key Takeaways

  • BandLab Technologies has acquired the AI-powered digital music studio Aiode.
  • Aiode allows users to finish their half-finished tracks using AI virtual musicians.
  • The acquisition is part of a growing trend in AI music technology acquisitions.

BandLab Technologies, a division of Caldecott Music Group and the creator of popular social music creation platform BandLab, has acquired Aiode, an AI-powered digital audio workstation. This move adds to BandLab’s suite of products which includes Cakewalk, ReverbNation, and Airbit.

Aiode offers musicians a unique tool for finishing their musical ideas by using AI virtual musicians who can help complete songs stem-by-stem. The platform also allows users to regenerate specific portions of songs, find new samples quickly, and work alongside models based on real musicians. Developed in collaboration with session musicians and producers, Aiode ensures that all its training data is traceable and respects the artistry of professional musicians.

Idan Dobrecki, CEO and co-founder of Aiode, stated: 'Aiode shares BandLab Technologies' ethos of innovation and giving music makers every opportunity to find success. Since Aiode was founded in 2022, we've worked side by side with professional musicians to create technology that respects their artistry and keeps them involved in how their musical identity is represented.'

Blue Dobrecki, COO and co-founder of Aiode, added: 'For Aiode, joining a group that understands both accessible creation and professional production is a rare fit. BandLab Technologies' breadth of experience gives us a much broader foundation for where Aiode can go as the ways people make music continue to evolve.'

This acquisition comes amidst a growing trend in AI music technology acquisitions. In 2025, Suno acquired WavTool, and Epidemic Sound purchased Song Sleuth. More recently, Beatstars acquired Lemonaide, Splice bought Kits AI, and Google acquired ProducerAI, integrating it into its music model Lyria 3.

BandLab Technologies’ CEO, Ankit Gupta, commented: 'We are excited to welcome the Aiode team to our growing family of music creators. Their innovative technology will complement our existing suite of tools and help us continue to support a wide range of DIY musicians around the world.'

The acquisition highlights BandLab’s commitment to supporting the diverse needs of music creators, from beginners to professionals. With this addition, BandLab Technologies aims to provide a comprehensive platform for all stages of musical creation.
