Pakistan also reaffirmed its commitment to extending all possible support to achieve lasting peace and stability in the region. On Sunday, the US military launched fresh strikes on Iran after it struck a container ship in the region. Tehran responded by closing the Strait of Hormuz and escalating attacks on US facilities across the Gulf. These actions followed a series of attacks between the two nations over the past several days, leading President Donald Trump to declare an end to a ceasefire that had been in place since February 28.

Iran accused the United States of firing a warning shot that struck a vessel traveling on an unapproved route and warned that any retaliation would be met with a 'severe response.' In contrast, US Central Command stated that commercial vessels continue to transit through the waterway, which carried one-fifth of the world’s oil and LNG shipments before the conflict.

The Foreign Office statement also referred to the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), calling on all sides to uphold their respective commitments under this agreement. Pakistan emphasized its role in supporting regional peace and stability, urging all parties to engage in constructive dialogue to address any issues that may arise.

While tensions remain high, Pakistan’s Foreign Office maintained a cautious tone, focusing on the need for restraint and peaceful resolution of conflicts. The statement underscored Pakistan's commitment to maintaining good relations with its neighbors while ensuring regional peace and stability.
