The Pakistan Cricket Board has reportedly suspended the issuance of no-objection certificates for cricketers intending to play in the Nepal Premier League. Officials reportedly requested a payment of $25,000 for each player to grant the necessary clearance for the competition.
Kathmandu will host the eight-team tournament from 26 October to 21 November 2026. Seven players are expected to feature in the league, including Sahibzada Farhan, Haider Ali, Hunain Shah, Hussain Talat, Iftikhar Ahmed, Hasan Ali, and Usama Mir.
Farhan joined the Pakistan ODI squad for a tri-nation series against England and Sri Lanka as a replacement for Saim Ayub. A new central-contract structure includes a Track D category specifically for T20 specialists.
This category was designed to give players more freedom to join overseas franchise leagues. Farhan is expected to return to Pakistan for international duties.
The board has not yet publicly stated which specific players are assigned to the revised categories.
