Major League Baseball (MLB) reportedly contacted the White House regarding staging a game within Grand Teton national park in Wyoming. The proposal to host a baseball game in the park has generated significant negative reaction.

Luther Propst described hosting a baseball game at the park as an "incomprehensible and deeply unwelcome notion." Propst further stated, "We all love baseball but neither [the Grand Teton national park] nor any other national park is an appropriate venue. This is a national issue, and completely contrary to the history and mission of our national parks set aside for preservation, contemplation of the beauty of nature, and wildlife habitat."

The National Wildlife Federation asserted that national parks exist to protect wildlife, preserve landscapes, and connect families with nature, rather than hosting corporate sporting events. A White House spokesperson clarified that while MLB approached them, the National Park Service had not issued permits, and the game does not represent a White House directive.
