Hampshire has signed a new contract with Joe Weatherley that runs until the conclusion of the 2028 season. The 29-year-old batsman expressed his satisfaction with the extension, stating, "I'm really pleased to extend my contract with Hampshire."

Weatherley noted that the club has served as his home for two decades, including over ten years of professional play. He described his affection for the dressing room and his desire to contribute to the team's success across various formats.

During last season's T20 Blast, the player maintained an average of just under 50 runs. He delivered an unbeaten 88 in the semi-final against Notts Outlaws at Edgbaston before scoring 75 in the final against the Northamptonshire Steelbacks.

Weatherley became the first cricketer to score two fifties on a single Finals Day. Since making his senior debut in 2016, he has appeared in 211 matches for the side.

With 2,741 runs, he currently ranks as the third-leading run-scorer in T20 cricket for the club. His career highlights include winning the 2018 Royal London Cup and filling in for the injured Jacob Bethell at Birmingham Phoenix during last summer's Hundred.
