Hospitals across Karachi are reporting a significant rise in flu cases as the weather transitions toward winter. Patients presenting with flu symptoms at Jinnah Hospital have nearly doubled in just one month.

Dr Irfan Siddiqui stated, "We have been seeing patients with flu-like symptoms for over a month but their numbers have just doubled over the past week, rising from 30 to 40 per day to 70 to 80 now, with the gradual seasonal shift towards winter, especially the drop in night-time temperatures." Civil Hospital previously admitted between 15 and 20 patients daily with the illness, but that figure has climbed to 30 to 40 people every day.

Medical experts have advised citizens to wear masks in crowded places and take precautionary measures when visiting public areas. Health officials also urged the public to get vaccinated against the flu, noting that children, older people, and patients with HIV face greater risks.
