The Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) project is nearing completion, with 99% of the main carriageway now complete, according to Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Salman Ghani. Ghani made these remarks during a detailed inspection of the project, emphasizing the importance of finishing the remaining works on time.

Ghani instructed the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) to prioritize the completion of outstanding drains, retaining walls, and interchange ramps. He also directed that the temporary connection with the M-2 Motorway at Thalian Interchange and the ramps leading towards Lahore remain fully operational until the interchange is completed.

To ensure safe and uninterrupted traffic flow, Ghani ordered the effective implementation of the temporary traffic management plan. He highlighted the need for maintaining technical and construction standards, warning that negligence or unnecessary delays would not be tolerated.

The project, which is a priority for the Punjab government, is expected to ease traffic pressure within Rawalpindi and improve inter-district and inter-provincial connectivity. Commissioner Ghani added that the project will support economic and commercial activity in the region.
