Pakistan beat Sri Lanka by 37 runs at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore during an ODI tri-series match. Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first.
The Sri Lankan side reached 430 runs against England, marking the second highest score in the history of one-day international cricket. Pakistan secured a 242-run target and reached it with 17 balls remaining.
The team faced a precarious situation when they were 154-9 at one point during the chase. Shadab Khan scored a century and shared an 89-run tenth-wicket partnership with Haris Rauf.
Pakistan previously won by 87 runs over England in Pindi and secured a one-wicket victory against the same side. England lost all three of their matches in the series.
Two changes were made to the Pakistan squad, including the inclusion of Maaz Sadaqat to replace Saim Ayub. Naseem Shah joined the lineup instead of Razaullah after missing the previous game due to a dislocated left hand finger.
Maaz Sadaqat, who scored 134 runs in six ODIs, last played for the national team on 24 June 2024 against Australia in Lahore. The Pakistan squad features Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam, Saad Baig, Salman Agha, Hasan Nawaz, Arafat Minhas, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Haris Rauf.
Lanka's lineup consists of Kamindu Mendis, Avishka Fernando, Kusal Mendis, Pavan Rathnayake, Dasun Shanaka, Janith Liyanage, Sahan Arachchige, Dunith Wellalage, Eshan Malinga, Asitha Fernando, and Dilshan Madushanka.
