Punjab CM orders inspections, bans overcharging on Eid ul Azha

Eid ul Azha has begun and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif is cracking down to ensure a safe travel experience for commuters. She directed deputy commissioners of all districts, as well as district police officers, to inspect buses and their terminals throughout the province.

The chief minister also mandated that fare lists be prominently displayed on every bus and at each stand in order to avoid overcharging passengers during Eid festivities. Maryam Nawaz Sharif has issued a stern warning against transportation operators involved in illegal profiteering, stating their route permits and licenses will face cancellation if found guilty of exploitation.

In her bid to ensure passenger comfort, the Punjab CM also instructed that cold drinking water be provided at bus terminals. The chief minister warned against overloading passengers by transport operators operating without fitness certificates and directed authorities to enforce a strict ban during Eid.
