The police official stated that the collapse was due to the crowd, adding that the injured officer was promptly taken to the hospital.

Chief Minister Sohail Afridi addressed the ceremony before moving on to another groundbreaking event at Pishtakhara Chowk Underpass.

This incident follows similar collapses in the region, with a woman killed in a roof collapse in Naguman last month due to heavy rain.

In July, at least eight people were injured in Peshawar after heavy rain and strong winds caused roof and wall collapses.

The collapse of the wall during the ceremony underscores ongoing concerns about construction safety and the use of substandard materials in Pakistan.
