The suspects, operating under the name Talk Master (Pvt) Ltd, allegedly used several loan apps, including Aghar, Gro Fund, James Fund, Cash Air, Credy Check, and Credit Support, to target victims.
The network allegedly accessed victims' phone galleries and contact lists, using artificial intelligence to create fake obscene images, which were then used to threaten victims.
The NCCIA Director General, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, stated that protecting Pakistan’s digital and financial reputation was the agency’s top priority and that a zero-tolerance policy would be maintained against those involved in blackmailing citizens.
The suspects, comprising 38 men and one woman, were arrested in a private housing society in Lahore.
Authorities recovered 40 laptops and 41 mobile phones during the operation and took the digital evidence into custody under legal procedures.
A case has been registered against the suspects, and further investigation is underway.
The NCCIA spokesperson emphasized the importance of maintaining vigilance against cybercrimes and ensuring the safety and security of citizens.
