The Islamabad Capital Territory Administration has imposed a two-month ban on swimming in Rawal Dam, Simly Dam, Swan River, and all nullahs across the federal capital, effective immediately. The ban was issued under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

Additional District Magistrate Islamabad, Dr Anam Fatima, issued the order on September 8, 2026, following reports of incidents linked to swimming activities in these areas. The administration emphasized the serious threat to human life posed by such activities.

Swimming has also been prohibited in Korang Nullah, Angori Road Nullah, Chattar Park Nullah, Shahdara, and Sunday-Mar Dam, along with other streams and water channels within the Islamabad Capital Territory. The administration advised citizens to strictly comply with the restriction.
