People applying for driving licenses in Lahore can now obtain free medical fitness certificates at 13 government hospitals, according to Chief Traffic Officer Lahore, Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi.
The authorities have set up free medical counters at designated hospitals to assist applicants seeking these certificates.
The counters are available at DHQ Mian Mir Hospital, DHQ Mozang, General Hospital Ghaziabad, Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Sabzazar, Government Hospital Samanabad, Government General Hospital Qila Gujjar Singh, and Government General Hospital Shahdara.
Other hospitals include Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Bilal Ganj, Government Hospital Sodiwal, Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Kahna, Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Raiwind, and Government Eye and General Hospital Swami Nagar, Shalimar.
Medical fitness certificates are mandatory for applicants seeking commercial driving licenses and for those over 50 years of age, Shirazi noted.
Under the new system, hospitals will upload the certificates directly to the Health Department’s portal, making verification easier and helping to prevent fraudulent certificates.
Shirazi stated that the initiative will facilitate the process for applicants and ensure the authenticity of the certificates.
