Federal Excise Duty (FED) collection in fiscal year 2025-26 surged to Rs. 840.02 billion, marking a 9.6% increase from the previous year’s Rs. 766.64 billion.

The FED collection during the second half of FY2025-26 stood at Rs. 439.29 billion, a 4.6% rise from the same period in FY2024-25.

The first half of FY2025-26 saw a more robust growth of 15.6%, with FED collection reaching Rs. 400.73 billion compared to Rs. 346.57 billion in the same period of the previous fiscal year.

Cigarettes, the largest source of FED revenue, generated Rs. 251.26 billion, a 11.4% increase from the previous year’s Rs. 225.50 billion.

Collection from cement, the second largest contributor, rose 4.1% to Rs. 160.35 billion, though it fell 7.7% in the second half compared to the same period in the previous year.

FED collection from services provided for inland air travel increased 8.7% to Rs. 57.68 billion, while collection from air travel rose 7.1% to Rs. 44.12 billion.

Motor cars contributed Rs. 25.58 billion, a 10.4% increase from the previous year, while sugar generated Rs. 12.57 billion, up 9.1%.

Fertilizers and urea contributed Rs. 22.19 billion, almost unchanged from the previous year’s Rs. 22.10 billion.

Washing machines recorded the largest increase, with FED collection rising 48.7% to Rs. 7.26 billion from Rs. 4.88 billion.
