KARACHI: Amidst a joint visit by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to Beijing for strengthening ties between the two nations, China and Pakistan have reached an ambitious agreement as per their latest bilateral statement. The consensus focuses on deepening strategic partnership with special emphasis on economic cooperation.
The countries underscored a mutual interest in promoting ‘high-quality development’ of the CPEC (China-Pakistan Economic Corridor), acknowledging its significance as one of Asia’s significant initiatives. Furthermore, they welcomed third-party participation for contributing to its growth and success.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the importance of this corridor which has immense potential not only in terms of economic benefits but also cultural connections with India’s Golden Temple Sahib. His visit marks a significant milestone as he is set to inaugurate the Kartarpur Corridor, an important symbol for Sikhs worldwide.
