Punjab Housing and Urban Development Minister Bilal Yasin has ordered a comprehensive beautification and cultural plan for Lahore in preparation for the upcoming Basant Festival 2027.

The initiative, under the supervision of the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA), aims to enhance the city’s appearance with themed floats, vibrant lighting, and floral displays.

Minister Yasin chaired a meeting on Wednesday where he received a detailed briefing from PHA Director General Ahmad Usman Javed on the festival arrangements.

The beautification work will cover major roads, entry points, and heritage sites across the city, with the goal of turning Basant into a major cultural event.

Historic sites in the Walled City will also be part of the festival, with proposals sought for a grand cultural event in this area.

The minister emphasized the importance of reviving Lahore’s cultural vibrancy and ensuring the festival provides a positive experience for citizens.
