The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) announced a significant increase in company registrations, with a record 5,438 new entities being registered in July. This figure includes five international companies that have established operations within the country.

According to SECP's statement, companies from Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, and China have entered Pakistan’s market, while 112 newly registered companies include foreign directors. The registrations are diverse, comprising 3,148 private limited companies, 2,117 single-member companies, 127 limited liability partnerships (LLPs), 28 non-profit organizations, and 18 public companies.

Punjab led the way with 51% of all registrations, totaling 2,756 companies. Islamabad followed closely with 1,053 new entities, while Sindh registered 864, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 450, Gilgit-Baltistan 180, and Balochistan 135.

The IT sector recorded the highest number of new registrations at 1,008 companies. This was followed by trading (845), services (638), construction (348), food and beverages (256), tourism (207), e-commerce (181), education (165), real estate development (162), and corporate agriculture (145).

In June, 4,323 new companies were registered—the highest number ever recorded in a single month. This trend continued into July, with the total surpassing the previous record.

Registrations of public sector companies also saw an increase by 25 percent during the fiscal year, indicating growing confidence and investment in Pakistan’s business environment.
